Zawya - Press Releases: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) launches its summer campaign to promote sustainable lifestyles and efficient consumption management.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 16, 2026 : The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) launched its annual summer awareness campaign under the slogan "Enjoy a more sustainable atmosphere this summer," with the aim of encouraging customers to take advantage of the ways provided by the authority to enable them to manage their electricity and water consumption intelligently and efficiently during the summer months, and to highlight a range of innovative digital services and solutions that provide real-time data to help them make more sustainable decisions.
In line with the Authority’s policy of supporting sustainability and the green economy, and consistent with its adopted circular economy model, the campaign includes a comprehensive set of awareness and interactive activities targeting various segments of society. This contributes to raising awareness about the importance of responsible resource use and fostering a culture of sustainability. Furthermore, the Authority is organizing a series of lectures and awareness sessions in collaboration with institutions and companies from both the public and private sectors in Dubai. These sessions aim to enhance the role of individuals and organizations in supporting sustainability goals and climate action in the emirate.
The campaign also includes interactive competitions across the Authority’s social media platforms, with the aim of encouraging community members to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives, while giving participants the opportunity to win valuable prizes by interacting with the campaign’s awareness content.
The campaign highlights a range of smart services and solutions that allow customers to proactively monitor their consumption and take appropriate measures to reduce waste and improve consumption efficiency.
The authority called on customers to take advantage of the "Smart Life" initiative, which includes an interactive dashboard via the authority's website and smart application, allowing them to view bill details, tariff brackets, and monitor their electricity and water consumption on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, helping them understand consumption patterns and take appropriate action.
The " Consumption Assessment Tool " also provides an interactive survey that enables customers to evaluate their consumption efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement. After completing the survey, the customer receives a detailed report that includes an analysis of their consumption patterns and a set of personalized recommendations to help them improve their electricity and water usage efficiency.
The " High Water Consumption Notification " service allows for the early detection of potential leaks after the meter, as it sends immediate alerts when an unusual increase in consumption is detected, which helps customers to quickly address the problem and avoid waste.
To ensure customer comfort during travel and summer holidays, the authority offers the " Out of Home " feature, which sends periodic reports and alerts about consumption via email on a daily or weekly basis, enabling customers to detect any unusual consumption while they are away from home.
As part of its support for the transition to sustainable mobility, the campaign highlights the " Green Charger" initiative for electric vehicles. By the end of the first quarter of this year, the number of electric vehicle charging points reached 2,223, including the Authority's own "Green Charger" stations, as well as charging stations operated by independent charging point operators licensed by the Authority, in cooperation with partners from the public and private sectors.
In addition, the authority offers a range of consumption tips and guidelines through its smart application and website: www.dewa.gov.ae
