Zawya - Press Releases: Ministry of Finance announces the issuance of a ministerial decision regarding the designation of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority in Dubai (VARA)

The Ministry of Finance announced the issuance of Ministerial Resolution No. (336) of 2025 adding the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority ( VARA ), established in the Emirate of Dubai pursuant to Law No. (4) of 2022, to the definition of the competent authority contained in Ministerial Resolution No. (229) of 2025 regarding activities qualified and excluded for the purposes of Federal Decree-Law No. (47) of 2022 regarding corporate and business tax. Pursuant to the resolution, the ( VARA ) authority is considered among the competent authorities for the purposes of activities qualified for fund management services, wealth management services and investments.

The Ministry of Finance affirms its commitment to ensuring clarity, certainty, and consistency across the regulatory and tax framework, while continuing to consolidate the UAE’s position as a leading international center for financial and investment services.
