Doha, Qatar – His Excellency Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, officially inaugurated the Big 5 Construct Qatar and INDEX Design Qatar exhibitions at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), in an international celebration that confirms Qatar’s position as a leading regional hub in the construction and design sectors .

The two exhibitions will continue until October 16, bringing together more than 150 exhibiting companies from over 25 countries to showcase the latest solutions in construction, design, project management, interior fit-out, and procurement. This event highlights the ways in which the construction and interior design sectors contribute and integrate to advance the national development agenda and support ambitious infrastructure projects in Qatar.

On this occasion, Mr. Mohammed Kazi, Vice President of dmg events, the organizer of this event, said: “The Big 5 Construct Qatar and INDEX Design Qatar are an ideal platform that brings together a group of local, regional, and international experts, in addition to showcasing the latest products and solutions that drive the growth and development of the construction and design sectors in Qatar. The first day witnessed intense activity in the exhibition halls, as companies presented their latest products and technologies in the fields of sustainable design and construction. Among the most prominent participants in the Big 5 Construct Qatar exhibition were Embasol Steel Mills, which specializes in the manufacture of steel pipes for major projects; Le Global Design, which provides comprehensive interior design and renovation services; Mikroton Kimya San, which specializes in electrostatic coating technologies;
Sacoqa for interior and exterior brick facade design, and Technotrade Trading Contracting for advanced coating and protection systems.

Meanwhile, INDEX Design Qatar hosted a distinguished group of brands, including Designer Impex, which presented home decor and accessories, IKEA, which is known for its integrated solutions for residential and commercial spaces, and Seiho Machinery & Electric (Nexen Power Track), which showcased its advanced smart track systems for interior design that combine flexibility with contemporary elegance.

Big 5 Talks sessions at the forefront of the professional scene

The first day of the event witnessed a significant turnout for the CPD -certified Big 5 Talks sessions, delivered by a group of prominent experts, including Eng. Amna Al Baker , Head of Building Information Modeling at the Public Works Authority - Ashghal; Daniel Glasswell, Commercial Director at Qatar Rail; Robert Kidd, Director of Consulting and Program Costing at AECOM; and Adrian Camps, Head of Evaluation and Consulting at Capstone. The discussions addressed several important topics, including sustainability, project management, infrastructure development, engineering excellence, and digital technologies, highlighting the sector's collective efforts to strengthen Qatar's construction ecosystem in line with the country's national development priorities and goals.

The two exhibitions are supported by prominent official partners, including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), and Qatar Tourism Authority (Visit Qatar).
