Saud Abdul Hamid is preparing to join the Saudi camp after resolving the issue of his stolen passport.

- Defender Saud Abdulhamid is set to join Saudi Arabia's training camp in New York ahead of the World Cup after resolving the crisis surrounding the theft of his passport in the Netherlands during his wedding ceremony.

The Lens player was supposed to arrive in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Monday to join the final stage of the training program, but his car was stolen while he was with his family in Amsterdam for his wedding, resulting in the loss of his personal belongings.

Abdul Hamid expressed his gratitude to the Saudi officials via the X platform for helping him obtain his paperwork to join his national team's training camp in the United States.

"Great appreciation to everyone who supported and contributed, and now we continue the mission with greater determination to serve the nation. Let's go to the World Cup," he said on Wednesday.

Saudi media reported that Abdul Hamid, 26, obtained a new passport after returning to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday and will join coach Georgios Donis' squad in New York on Thursday.

Abdelhamid, on loan to Lens from Roma, helped his team qualify for the Champions League after finishing second in the French league and winning the French Cup against Nice last week.

Saudi Arabia will begin its journey in Group H of the World Cup against Uruguay on June 16, before playing against Spain and Cape Verde.
