Syria: Cell responsible for Damascus bombings arrested two days ago
July 9 (Reuters) - Syrian state television reported on Thursday, citing Interior Minister Anas Khattab, that the cell responsible for what it called "terrorist" bombings in Damascus two days earlier had been apprehended. Khattab added that authorities would reveal the identities of the cell members, their roles, and all their connections after the investigations were completed.
Two bombs exploded on Tuesday near a hotel in Damascus where French President Emmanuel Macron was staying, injuring 18 people and casting a shadow over the first visit by a European Union head of state to Syria since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad.
