PRESSR: The UAE cybersecurity market paves the way for a strategic dialogue on artificial intelligence at the Intersec Cybersecurity Conference
● Luqman Condith, director of cybersecurity at NYU Abu Dhabi, will reimagine AI governance through a village illustration, showing how timeless leadership principles can guide responsible innovation and risk management.
● The "In Cyber" brief will cover artificial intelligence, post-quantum computing readiness, data sovereignty, and crisis simulation, with the aim of providing leaders with practical frameworks to enhance cyber resilience.
● Intersec 2026 will take place from 12 to 14 January 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Dubai, UAE: With the UAE’s cybersecurity market rapidly expanding from US$620 million in 2024 to a projected US$1.29 billion by 2030, driven by AI security analytics, zero-trust engineering and strong government initiatives, the Intersec 2026 Cyber Briefing will highlight important insights into the evolving digital threat landscape and the governance of emerging technologies such as AI.
According to Research and Markets, the UAE cybersecurity market is experiencing rapid growth, driven by a range of digital transformation initiatives, increasing cyber threats, and strong government support for digital infrastructure, including the development of the UAE National Cybersecurity Strategy and the establishment of bodies such as the Cybersecurity Council. These initiatives are considered a major catalyst for growth, and research indicates that the sector will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 12.8% until 2030.
As part of the 27th edition of Intersec, which will take place from January 12-14, 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the "N Cyber" event is specifically designed for information security officers, cybersecurity strategists, and digital risk leaders dealing with unprecedented technological acceleration, with a focus on practical tools and realistic frameworks addressing AI governance, post-quantum computing readiness, supply chain resilience, and cyber risk reporting.
A highlight of the "In Cyber Brief" event is a keynote address by Luqman Condith, Director of Cybersecurity at NYU Abu Dhabi, titled "Village Wisdom: A Tale in AI Governance." During the session, Condith will translate the complexities of AI governance into practical lessons on trust, oversight, and responsible innovation.
In this context, Condeth stated: "In the story, the village elder has to keep his people alive amidst uncertainty, balancing resources, risks, and innovation. When the oracle introduces a clever but unexpected tool, he faces the same dilemma we face with artificial intelligence: how to benefit from its intelligence without giving up our ability to judge and make decisions ."
By observing the way the sheikh sets the rules, proves the accuracy of the predictions, and keeps humans part of the guidance process, the public realizes that governance is not compliance papers, but rather collective wisdom that is systematically organized and formulated.
During his presentation, Condith emphasized the serious concern about the use of artificial intelligence for accurate rather than illusory predictions, stating that while governance frameworks cannot eliminate risks, they have a vital role in establishing accountability and awareness.
Condeth added, "We need to build systems, or 'three lines of defense': operations teams that test AI in controlled conditions, risk and compliance teams that measure accuracy and bias, and internal auditors who check that rules are being followed."
Condeth believes that the future of AI governance will look less like regulation and more like infrastructure, and will be integrated into design and decision-making plans in the same way that cybersecurity and privacy are integrated today.
Condeth concluded by saying, “AI governance must be continuous, integrated, and human-centered. We are moving towards AI control rooms that constantly monitor the behavior of models, supported by ongoing risk assessments rather than periodic reviews. Because AI will operate as both a tool and a service across the enterprise, close alignment with the enterprise architecture is essential, and ultimately, governance must remain adaptive and not only measure performance but also encompass trust, accountability, and societal impact.”
Kearney, a leading management consulting firm and Intersec's strategic intelligence partner, is also hosting a closed panel discussion entitled "Protecting Digital Infrastructure: Securing National Infrastructure in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Hybrid Threats." Based on the discussion, Kearney will issue a white paper on the session exploring how governments can move beyond reactive defense toward proactive, information-based resilience, integrating collaboration between policy, technology, and ecosystems to protect critical assets.
On this occasion , Deschamps Isaac, Director of Intersec Exhibition Management at Messe Frankfurt Middle East, said: “Artificial intelligence, automation and digitalization are reshaping the cybersecurity landscape. The N Cyber Brief provides decision-makers with the insights, frameworks and leadership strategies needed to manage AI ethically and effectively, while ensuring their companies are protected from emerging threats.”
Intersec 2026 will be the largest edition in the exhibition’s history, spanning 67,000 square meters of exhibition space, with the participation of more than 1,400 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and an expected 50,000 visitors. The exhibition will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and with the support of the Dubai Civil Defence General Command and the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA).
