Riyadh - Mubasher: Arabian Centres Company (Sinomi Centres) announced awarding a contract to Arabian Cold Cooling & Air Conditioning Company to build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) a new central cooling plant with a capacity of 12,500 tons of refrigeration in the “Jawharat Riyadh” commercial complex.

The company explained in a statement on "Tadawul" today, Monday, that the contract period is 25 years, with a value of 14.4 million riyals annually.

She pointed out that this project extends over a construction area exceeding 350 thousand square meters and will obtain the LEED certification for leadership in energy and environmental design.

She also pointed out that the contract was signed with an alliance that includes FAS Energy and Sojitz, where the two parties will cooperate to ensure the provision of effective and sustainable cooling solutions according to the highest standards.

The company stated that this project is part of its plan to enhance the infrastructure of its main commercial projects, support sustainability in line with Vision 2030, and develop innovative energy solutions.

She noted that Sinomi Centers will not provide any upfront capital expenditures, and approximately 13 megawatt/hours of electricity consumption will be saved annually, leading to savings of approximately 4 million riyals annually in terms of financial value, and the total savings over 25 years are estimated at approximately 100 million riyals.

The company is also estimated to save about 30% of operating and maintenance costs, including replacement costs, each year.
