PRESSR: Oman Oil Marketing Company and TFG Marine establish a partnership to supply ships with fuel.
Oman and Singapore – Oman Oil Marketing Company and TFG Marine have established a company to supply fuel to ships visiting the Omani ports of Muscat, Duqm and Sohar.
TFG-OOMCO LLC, established in the Sultanate of Oman, will combine Oman Oil Company’s local knowledge with the international footprint, providing all types of marine fuel, infrastructure and logistics capabilities for TFG Marine, to supply customers with fuel in the Arabian Gulf.
As Mr. Tariq bin Al Junaidi, CEO of Oman Oil Marketing Company, stated: “This partnership aligns with Oman Oil Marketing Company’s efforts to develop the maritime transport and shipping infrastructure in the Sultanate of Oman, in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040. We also reaffirm our commitment to meeting the growing demand for high-quality marine fuels that comply with the highest international health, safety, and environmental standards. Through our partnership with TFG Marine, and by adopting the latest technologies and implementing global best practices in the field of ship bunkering, we strive to achieve excellence and sustainability in ship bunkering operations at the Sultanate’s ports.”
Mr. Mark Russell, Chief Commercial Officer of TFG Marine, added: “This is our first project in the Middle East and we look forward to serving our customers in this region. The Sultanate of Oman has a rich history as a maritime nation and is located in a prime location near the major shipping routes that connect the Arabian Gulf and the Indian subcontinent with the rest of the world.”
Today’s announcement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Sohar Port and Freezone and TFG Marine to establish an international bunkering operation. TFG Marine has deployed the bunkering vessel “Margarita Kozolic” to the region to supply vessels at Sohar Port. The vessel is equipped with a Mass Flow Meter (MFM), calibrated to the international standard ISO 22192 as required by Sohar Port. TFG Marine has long been a strong advocate for the adoption of calibrated MFMs globally, aiming to bring the necessary transparency to bunkering operations and promote digital transformation for the long-term benefit of the bunkering industry, while also contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions in the shipping sector.
