May 20 (Reuters) - The Standard & Poor's 500 and Nasdaq indexes opened higher on Wednesday, boosted by a rebound in chip stocks ahead of Nvidia's quarterly earnings report, which investors see as a crucial test of demand for artificial intelligence amid concerns about rising U.S. Treasury yields.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 15.6 points, or 0.21 percent, to 7369.19, the Nasdaq Composite index climbed 120.8 points, or 0.47 percent, to 25991.509, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 15.0 points, or 0.03 percent, to 49348.83.
