NEW YORK, May 28 (Reuters) - The Standard & Poor's 500 and Nasdaq indexes closed at record highs on Thursday after reports that the United States and Iran had reached a draft agreement to extend the ceasefire for 60 days, while investors awaited key inflation data.
Preliminary data indicated that the Standard & Poor's 500 index closed up 43.50 points, or 0.58 percent, at 7563.71 points, the Nasdaq Composite index rose 239.79 points, or 0.91 percent, to 26917.47 points, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 24.11 points, or 0.04 percent, to 50666.29 points.
