"Kemanol": CEO's contract terminated, Fares Al-Abbad assigned to carry out his duties

Riyadh - Mubasher: Methanol Chemicals Company ( Chemanol ) announced the termination of the employment contract of CEO Sabri Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, effective Thursday, May 15, 2025. Accordingly, his membership on the Board of Directors will change from executive to non-executive .

The company added, in a statement on Sunday on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul), that Faris Ahmed Al-Abbad, who currently holds the position of Vice President of Manufacturing, has been assigned the duties of CEO until the new CEO assumes his duties, which is expected to take place next July .

She pointed out that Al-Abbad holds a bachelor’s degree in applied chemical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and has more than 27 years of professional experience in the petrochemical industries and project development sector, 26 of which he spent at SABIC and Petrokemya (a subsidiary of SABIC), where he progressed in the field of operations and process engineering from a production engineer until he reached the position of senior manager. He also worked within the work team for oil conversion projects to petrochemicals, and holds two patents in the same field .

She added that he had attended dozens of training courses in the petrochemical industry and the art of management and leadership inside and outside the Kingdom .

She indicated that any new developments will be announced in due course.
