Kuwait: Alshaya Group, in partnership with the Public Authority for Manpower in Kuwait, honored 160 Kuwaiti students for completing their summer training program.
The month-long program, which ran from June 29 to July 24, provided young students with the opportunity to intern at a range of leading brands and locations, including Starbucks, H&M, Foot Locker, Next, Muji, Milano, American Eagle, Victoria's Secret, Harvey Nichols, River Island, Jack Wills, Texas Roadhouse, Asha's, The Cheesecake Factory, Chipotle, Shake Shack, Pinkberry, Bebubble, Bath & Body Works, KidZania, Tech Zone, and Quest.
The Kuwaiti trainees completed an intensive program that included practical training and a comprehensive overview of store operations, including sales, promotions, customer service, marketing, and inventory management. The experience culminated with a graduation ceremony held at Alshaya Tower, where the trainees received certificates of completion.
“My internship at Starbucks taught me that retail is a true team effort,” said Leen Abdullah from Al Asmaa Bint Al Harith School. “From day one, I was encouraged to take initiative and contribute ideas, and I learned how important collaboration and communication are in a fast-paced work environment. This experience gave me valuable skills and inspired me to consider a future career in retail.”
Bashir Mazraani, Regional Human Resources Director at Alshaya Group, said: “As we welcome young interns into our stores each year, we witness their enthusiasm and growth firsthand. These training programs not only shape the future of the retail sector, but also empower young Kuwaitis to realize their potential, build their self-confidence, and aspire to a career that fulfills their aspirations. We are proud to contribute to their journey and the continued success of our community contributions.”
