PRESSR: stc Group signs agreement with Telefónica to provide satellite and terrestrial communication services

Riyadh : stc Group, the enabler of digital transformation, announced the signing of a satellite and ground station services agreement with Telefónica Global Solutions (TGS) , the global business arm of the Telefónica Group. The agreement aims to develop advanced satellite communication solutions, including customized services across low Earth orbit (LEO), medium Earth orbit (MEO), and geostationary orbit ( GEO ) networks.

The combined capabilities of both parties are expected to support key sectors such as maritime navigation, aviation, emergency services, and connecting remote areas by providing high-speed, scalable connectivity that meets the requirements of vital operations on land, at sea, and in the air . This partnership will enable the delivery of satellite connectivity solutions in the Kingdom, the Middle East region, and global markets, fostering innovation in critical technologies that contribute to the global digital economy .

Mohammed Al-Abadi , CEO of the Carriers and Operators Unit at stc Group, said: “This partnership enhances our ability to develop a scalable communications infrastructure and support the Kingdom’s digital transformation goals.
