Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) signed five agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at boosting businesses in the Jeddah Food Cluster.

The agreements included signing a tripartite agreement with Umm Al-Qura University and the National Academy of Industry to enhance joint cooperation in the field of training and qualifying national cadres to work in the industrial and mining sectors, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

MODON and the Food Industries Institute signed a memorandum of understanding to design and implement specialized training programs that will hone the skills and capabilities of human resources working in the food industries sector in industrial cities, including the Jeddah Food Cluster, and contribute to localizing sector jobs in the Kingdom.

MODON and the Inspection, Diagnostics and Laboratory Analysis Company (IDAC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide the necessary tests through the quality control laboratory to ensure food safety in the new food cluster in Jeddah and enhance the reliability of the Saudi food industry .

MODON and the Halal Products Development Company (Halal), a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, signed a cooperation agreement to build capacity and raise awareness among investors in the Jeddah Food Cluster of halal product standards, provide support and consulting services, link them with local manufacturers, and facilitate the products’ access to global markets.

It also signed a cooperation agreement with the "Kon Arabia" company to support the industrial sectors in the Kingdom, and to establish a strategic partnership to organize the Saudi Food Exhibition and Conference in its next edition during the month of April 2025 in Riyadh .

It is worth noting that the Jeddah Food Cluster in the Second and Third Industrial Cities in Jeddah is the first of its kind that links manufacturers and supply chains while ensuring environmental sustainability for high-quality production; in line with the objectives of the National Industrial Strategy and the initiatives assigned to “Modon” in the National Industry Development and Logistics Program “NDLEP ”.

The food cluster, which covers an area of more than 11 million square meters, contributes to enhancing industrial productivity through innovative infrastructure and investment in promising capabilities. It aims to attract qualitative investments of up to 20 billion riyals, support national exports by about 8 billion riyals, and provide more than 43,000 job opportunities in the industrial and logistics fields, which will enhance the gross domestic product by about 7 billion riyals within the next ten years.
