Marafiq signs SAR 340 million contract to convert Yanbu 2 plant to dry gas

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Electricity and Water Utilities Company in Jubail and Yanbu (Marafiq) has signed a contract with Doosan Enerblity to implement the project of converting the company’s Yanbu 2 plant from using liquid fuel to dry gas. Worth 340.14 million riyals.
The company explained, in a statement on "Tadawul", that signing the contract comes within the liquid fuel displacement program, as an extension of the work of the energy system, and the project is scheduled to contribute to reducing emissions resulting from electricity production within the company's facilities.
She pointed out that the contract period is up to three years, and the project is financed according to the budget allocated to it by the Ministry of Energy, within the liquid fuel displacement program.
She said the award date is November 27, 2024, and the expected date for signing the contract is January 1, 2025.
