EU foreign policy chief: US-Iran peace deal could represent a breakthrough
BRUSSELS, June 15 (Reuters) - The agreement between the United States and Iran "potentially represents a breakthrough" on the war, the European Union's foreign policy chief Kaia Kallas said on Monday, and that the EU would now consider ways to participate in the next phase.
“The bloc is ready to contribute to a sustainable solution, starting with its economic weight, nuclear expertise, and long-standing relationships with Gulf partners,” Callas said in a post on the X platform ahead of a meeting of foreign ministers from the 27 EU member states in Brussels.
