A French official: Israeli company Blackcor is suspected of also interfering in elections in New York and Scotland.

- The head of France's disinformation watchdog, Vigenome, said on Thursday that Israeli firm Blackcoral, suspected of interfering in French local elections in March, is also suspected of interfering in elections in New York City and Scotland, and of carrying out activities in Angola and Togo.

Last month, Reuters reported that French authorities suspected Blackcore of being responsible for an online smear campaign targeting three candidates from a far-left political party ahead of municipal elections held in March of this year.

Marc-Antoine Brilland, president of Vigenome, said, "This modus operandi was not limited to the municipal elections in France... It also appears to have been used to carry out foreign digital interference in other countries or regions, such as Angola, Togo, the elections in Scotland, and the 2025 municipal elections in New York."
