A South Korean presidential official: We do not yet know what role Iran played in the Namu incident, if any.

- South Korea's presidential office on Monday condemned in the strongest terms the attack on a South Korean cargo ship this month in the Strait of Hormuz and said it would respond as soon as the source of the attack was identified.

A senior presidential official told reporters that South Korean experts had conducted a preliminary assessment of the damage to the ship's stern on the port side. The attack caused a fire in the ship's engine room.
