MOSCOW, July 8 (Reuters) - The Yasa Polaris, an oil tanker used by Chevron to transport Caspian Pipeline Union cargoes, was attacked by a drone off the Russian Black Sea coast, two industry sources said on Wednesday.
Chevron said it was aware of an incident involving a vessel bound for the Caspian Pipeline Union's loading facilities near the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, adding that the ship's crew was safe and exports from Kazakhstan were unaffected.
"The vessel is heading to a safe port, and we are coordinating with the vessel's operator and relevant authorities," Chevron said in an emailed statement.
