Source: America will lift export restrictions on Anthropic's AI model (Fibel)
June 30 (Reuters) - The U.S. Commerce Department is expected to lift export restrictions on Anthropic's Fable 5 artificial intelligence model on Tuesday, less than three weeks after ordering the company to suspend access to its most advanced AI model due to national security risks, a source familiar with the matter predicted.
Anthropic abruptly suspended access to the Mythos 5 and Vibel 5 models following the issuance of the export control order on June 12.
Anthropic announced on Friday that the US government has allowed it to release its artificial intelligence model (Cloud Mythos 5) to certain "trusted" US institutions, partially reversing the suspension order.
Politico had previously reported on the possibility of lifting export controls.
The White House has not yet responded to a request for comment.
