January 24 (Reuters Sports Service) - Roberto Firmino scored twice to lead Al Sadd to a 3-2 victory over Shabab Al Ahli in the UAE-Qatar Super Cup between the league champions of the two countries on Saturday.
Shabab Al-Ahli of the UAE took the lead in the 29th minute with a powerful shot from Yuri Cesar before Firmino equalized from the penalty spot in the 54th minute, while Akram Afif scored the go-ahead goal in the 74th minute.
But Mohammed Juma Al Mansouri brought Shabab Al Ahli back into the game shortly after with a well-placed header.
Firmino scored the winning goal for Qatari side Al Sadd in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
The match was exciting from the start, and in the second minute, Al Sadd player Rafa Mojica almost opened the scoring with a powerful shot from a distance that rebounded off the crossbar.
The response from Al Ahli youth came with a header from close range played by Saeed Ezzatallah, but it went just over the crossbar in the seventh minute.
