- Two aviation industry sources said that DAE Capital, a subsidiary of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise and specializing in aircraft leasing, is close to finalizing a deal to acquire a controlling stake in Macquarie Airfinance's leasing platform.

Neither company has yet responded to a request for comment.

Reuters reported in January that D.A.E. was among the final contenders for Macquarie's aircraft leasing assets, along with Saudi Arabia's Avilis and Qatar's Bank Lsha.

This deal follows a competitive bidding round, driven by high demand for aircraft, as Boeing and Airbus are unable to produce enough planes to meet airline needs. This has created an opportunity for leasing companies to sell their aircraft at premium prices.

In 2017, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise acquired Dublin-based Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services, which was the tenth largest aircraft leasing company in the world.
