Introduction 2 - UAE: Technical glitch causes false warning of potential attack

To add the UAE statement

- The United Arab Emirates announced on Friday that a "technical malfunction" in its early warning system resulted in false messages being sent to residents about a possible missile threat.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority said that the outage that occurred this evening has been "dealt with".

She added, "The specialized teams immediately began addressing the issue as soon as the fault was detected, in accordance with the approved plans to ensure the continuity of services and minimize any potential impact on users."

This warning brought to mind the warnings issued at the height of the US-Israeli war on Iran, when Iranian attacks on targets in the Gulf region, where US military bases are located, prompted Emirati authorities to send messages related to public safety.
