June 28 (Reuters) - Fourteen people died on Sunday when a helicopter belonging to Saudi Aramco, the state news agency SPA reported, citing an official source in the Ministry of Energy. The crash occurred in Ras Tanura on the kingdom's east coast on the Gulf, west of the Strait of Hormuz.
She added that all passengers on board the helicopter were killed in the accident.
The source stated that investigations are underway with the participation of the relevant authorities to determine the causes of the helicopter crash.
Aramco resumed crude oil loading operations at Ras Tanura port on Friday after a nearly four-month hiatus.
Aramco has not yet responded to a request for comment sent via email.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that the incident occurred at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT), without providing further details.
Saudi Arabia joined other Middle Eastern producers in preparing to ramp up oil and gas shipments and exports in the period leading up to the interim agreement between the United States and Iran to end the war.
