Riyadh - Mubasher: The General Authority of Ports (Mawani) held a strategic meeting with major international feeder ship companies under the slogan "Sail to the Kingdom's Ports" in Dubai, UAE, to enhance and increase the connection of Saudi ports with international ports, which contributes to increasing the competitiveness of Saudi ports at the regional and international levels .

The meeting, according to a statement by "Ports" today, Thursday, addressed the remarkable developments witnessed by the Kingdom's ports, including the development of infrastructure and handling equipment in container terminals and the creation of ships providing marine services to enhance operational efficiency.

"Ports" said that the spotlight was on the latest technologies used in ports and the increase in capacity with the aim of enabling ports to provide highly efficient operational services. The most prominent initiatives to support and enable the work of shipping lines in ports were also presented .

The meeting discussed the importance of cooperation opportunities and increasing strategic partnership with major feeder ship companies, and developing joint action plans aimed at improving the connectivity of Saudi ports, providing logistical services, and facilitating trade movement .

The Authority indicated that this step comes within the framework of supporting the national economy and consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics center and a linking hub for the three continents, in accordance with the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
