Maersk: Crossing the Strait of Hormuz was successful and without incident; all crew members are safe and unharmed.
LOS ANGELES, May 4 (Reuters) - Shipping giant Maersk said its U.S.-flagged vehicle carrier Alliance Fairfax, operated by Maersk subsidiary Farrell Lines, left the Gulf via the Strait of Hormuz on Monday escorted by U.S. military forces.
Maersk added that the crossing was completed without incident and that all crew members were safe and unharmed.
The Alliance Fairfax was one of hundreds of ships stranded in the Gulf after the US-Israeli war on Iran led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz since early March.
