Turkish economy grew 2.5% in Q1
ISTANBUL, June 1 (Reuters) - Turkey's economy grew 2.5 percent year-on-year in the first quarter, slightly below expectations, official data showed on Monday, marking a slowdown in growth for the third consecutive quarter.
Data from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed that GDP grew by 0.1 percent in the first quarter compared to the previous quarter, on a seasonally adjusted basis and in light of calendar factors.
Experts polled by Reuters predicted that economic growth would slow to 2.7 percent in the first quarter, while the economy is expected to grow 3.15 percent in 2026 as a whole.
