The Capital Market Authority announces the start of receiving license applications to conduct business in the commodities and metals market in the Kingdom.

The Capital Market Authority announces that it will begin receiving applications for licenses to conduct business in the commodities and metals market in the Saudi market for a period of (123) days, starting from 16/01/1448 AH corresponding to 01/07/2026 AD until 20/05/1448 AH corresponding to 31/10/2026 AD.
By opening the application process for licenses, the Capital Market Authority (CMA) aims to strengthen the infrastructure, increase the number of financial instruments available in the capital market, and diversify its products. The CMA intends to grant one license for commodity and metals trading in the Kingdom during the current application period, aligning with the structure of the financial market and its impact on investor confidence and the stability of licensed markets. The current application period will focus on trading in a secondary market for commodity and metals derivatives contracts, thereby enhancing the market's attractiveness, serving its participants, and strengthening its position in global markets.
The announcement of the commencement of receiving license applications comes in line with the amendments to the Capital Market Law dated 1/1/1441 AH corresponding to 9/18/2019 AD, and in addition to the Authority’s announcement of the adoption of the Securities Depository Markets and Centers Regulations, which was published on 12/19/1443 AH corresponding to 7/18/2022 AD, regarding the adoption of the Securities Depository Markets and Centers Regulations, which indicated that the Authority will later determine the periods for submitting license applications for securities depository markets and centers and the mechanism for submitting them.
The Authority invites those interested in conducting business in the commodities and metals market in the Kingdom to submit an application for a license, provided that the application is specific to conducting business in the commodities and metals market in accordance with the requirements for obtaining a license to conduct market business stipulated in the Securities Markets and Depository Centers Regulations via the designated application form.
