PRESSR: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority launches "Power of the Sun" and "Easy Connection" initiatives as part of its "Services 360" policy.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: As part of its efforts to provide seamless and integrated services that enhance customer happiness, especially for contractors, consultants and investors in Dubai, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) launched the “Power of the Sun” and “Easy Connection” initiatives, with the aim of supporting them in accelerating the launch of their businesses and encouraging them to adopt clean energy sources, within the Authority’s policy aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 through pioneering projects and initiatives .
The two initiatives are in line with Dubai’s economic agenda ( D33 ), which aims to drive economic growth in the emirate and consolidate its position among the world’s best cities, and within the framework of the “Services 360” policy, which focuses on providing a seamless and proactive experience that meets and exceeds customer expectations .
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), said: “Through the implementation of the ‘Services 360’ policy, we continue our commitment to achieving the vision of the wise leadership to provide proactive, integrated digital services that contribute to making people’s lives easier, and rely on flexible and efficient business models that support Dubai’s competitiveness and global leadership in quality of life and excellence in government services. We are working to enhance the customer experience by integrating the latest advanced technologies such as generative artificial intelligence and data analytics, in addition to the integration of government services, in line with the Dubai government’s directions and strategy towards comprehensive government integration.”
His Excellency Al Tayer added: “The ‘Power of the Sun’ and ‘Easy Delivery’ initiatives have contributed to improving internal processes, reducing the steps required to obtain the service by up to 75%, and reducing completion time by up to 50%, which brings significant benefits to consultants and contractors. These improvements have directly contributed to accelerating the launch of investment projects in Dubai and increasing the return on investment for investors by approximately AED 414 million annually, in addition to achieving annual savings of more than AED 120 million for customers. These efforts have contributed to raising the customer happiness index to 98.9%.”
The "Solar Power" initiative facilitates customers' journey to obtain solar energy services and connect photovoltaic systems to DEWA's electricity grid as part of the "Shams Dubai" initiative. The initiative provides a fully digital experience, from application submission and design review to approvals and connection, while ensuring the highest standards of efficiency, safety, and quality.
The “Easy Connection” initiative aims to simplify electricity and water services for contractors, consultants and investors, as the authority has unified the procedures related to electricity and water network requests through a unified digital platform to save time and effort, in addition to revealing in advance the need to make the necessary modifications in the network, thus shortening the customer’s journey to clear and quick automated steps.
