Finance ministers from ASEAN countries are concerned about the repercussions of tensions in the Middle East.

- Finance ministers and central bank governors of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) expressed concern on Friday about the impact of ongoing tensions in the Middle East on global trade and geopolitical stability in a joint statement.

They stressed the need to be wary of external and internal risks, including political uncertainty caused by tariffs, geoeconomic disintegration, volatility in capital flows, climate-related shocks, and debt risks.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening financial integration in the region to mitigate the effects of global and regional developments.
