Turkish Energy Minister: Arbitration ruling on pipeline will form part of ongoing negotiations on a new agreement

- Iraq wants to transport 750,000 barrels of oil per day through the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline under an agreement to keep it operational for another year, Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said, adding that Turkey has allocated sufficient capacity for this.

The current pipeline agreement between Iraq and Turkey expires this month. The two countries reached an understanding last week to keep it operational for another year, and a new agreement is expected to be signed in the coming days.

The pipeline gained new importance after Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz and the resulting halt to Iraqi oil exports transported by sea.
