Australia shares expected to open higher; NZ slips

- Australian shares are expected to open higher on Friday as investors take cues from Wall Street's overnight tech-led rally while following developments from a high-stakes meeting in Beijing between U.S. President Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

The local share price index futures YAPcm1 rose 0.6%, a 79.3-point premium to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO close. The benchmark had closed up 0.1% on Thursday.

Across the Tasman Sea, New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index .NZ50 fell 0.1% in early trade.
