** NRSN says its experimental oral drug PrimeC for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), showed a statistically significant reduction in TDP-43 versus placebo, meeting the main goal of a mid-stage study
** ALS is a fatal nerve disease that causes progressive muscle weakness and paralysis; TDP-43 is a disease-linked protein found in most ALS cases
** PrimeC is made from a fixed-dose combination of two FDA-approved drugs, ciprofloxacin and celecoxib - NRSN
** Co says findings build on earlier data showing slower disease progression, survival benefit and no new safety concerns
