A round-up of notable broker activity this morning from Europe's top-ranked* analysts:
** Berenberg cuts Swedish miner Boliden BOL.ST to "hold" from "buy" after a challenging Q2, as the broker sees shares facing an unwanted overhang from an M&A standpoint
** RBC downgrades Vaar Energi VAR.OL to "sector perform" from "outperform", saying that BlueNord's acquisition has diluted the Norwegian oil company medium-term strategy
** It ups Norway's energy producer Equinor EQNR.OL to "sector perform" from "underperform" with the broker updating for latest commodity price deck, which assumes $80/bbl Brent in 2026 vs a previous of $89/bbl
** Peel Hunt raises British kitchen and interior fittings supplier Howden Joinery HWDN.L to "buy" from "add", seeing an upside of around 25% for the shares as multiples on existing forecasts are too low
** BofA upgrades Britain's biggest food retailer Tesco TSCO.L to "buy" from "neutral" as rising Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) and sustained value creation support a re-rating
INITIATIONS AND REINSTATEMENTS
** Goldman Sachs starts Technoprobe TPRO.MI with "buy" rating seeing the Italian tech firm as well positioned given its market share of around 60% in advanced Logic probe cards and ongoing HBM expansion
** Bernstein initiates Renk Group R3NK.DE with "outperform" rating as the German defence company already has a 2028 target of around 2.0 billion euros ($2.28 billion) almost entirely contracted backlog plus installed-base after market
** It also starts German construction group Bilfinger GBFG.DE with "outperform" rating, stating that re-rating is "management's to earn" through delivery rather than handed over by a favourable tailwind
