CI&T Inc. Earnings Missed Analyst Estimates: Here's What Analysts Are Forecasting Now
CI&T, Inc. Class A CINT | 0.00 |
It's been a good week for CI&T Inc. (NYSE:CINT) shareholders, because the company has just released its latest quarterly results, and the shares gained 5.1% to US$3.69. It looks like a pretty bad result, all things considered. Although revenues of US$143m were in line with analyst predictions, statutory earnings fell badly short, missing estimates by 37% to hit US$0.05 per share. The analysts typically update their forecasts at each earnings report, and we can judge from their estimates whether their view of the company has changed or if there are any new concerns to be aware of. So we gathered the latest post-earnings forecasts to see what estimates suggest is in store for next year.
Taking into account the latest results, the current consensus from CI&T's ten analysts is for revenues of US$569.9m in 2026. This would reflect an okay 5.3% increase on its revenue over the past 12 months. Statutory per-share earnings are expected to be US$0.29, roughly flat on the last 12 months. Before this earnings report, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of US$570.5m and earnings per share (EPS) of US$0.34 in 2026. The analysts seem to have become more bearish following the latest results. While there were no changes to revenue forecasts, there was a substantial drop in EPS estimates.
It might be a surprise to learn that the consensus price target fell 5.1% to US$5.62, with the analysts clearly linking lower forecast earnings to the performance of the stock price. There's another way to think about price targets though, and that's to look at the range of price targets put forward by analysts, because a wide range of estimates could suggest a diverse view on possible outcomes for the business. The most optimistic CI&T analyst has a price target of US$8.00 per share, while the most pessimistic values it at US$4.00. This is a fairly broad spread of estimates, suggesting that analysts are forecasting a wide range of possible outcomes for the business.
Another way we can view these estimates is in the context of the bigger picture, such as how the forecasts stack up against past performance, and whether forecasts are more or less bullish relative to other companies in the industry. We can infer from the latest estimates that forecasts expect a continuation of CI&T'shistorical trends, as the 11% annualised revenue growth to the end of 2026 is roughly in line with the 12% annual growth over the past five years. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to see their revenues grow 16% per year. So it's pretty clear that CI&T is expected to grow slower than similar companies in the same industry.
The Bottom Line
The biggest concern is that the analysts reduced their earnings per share estimates, suggesting business headwinds could lay ahead for CI&T. Fortunately, the analysts also reconfirmed their revenue estimates, suggesting that it's tracking in line with expectations. Although our data does suggest that CI&T's revenue is expected to perform worse than the wider industry. The consensus price target fell measurably, with the analysts seemingly not reassured by the latest results, leading to a lower estimate of CI&T's future valuation.
Following on from that line of thought, we think that the long-term prospects of the business are much more relevant than next year's earnings. At Simply Wall St, we have a full range of analyst estimates for CI&T going out to 2028, and you can see them free on our platform here..
