On Holding ONON | 0.00 |
On Holding AG (NYSE:ONON) shareholders (or potential shareholders) will be happy to see that the Co-Founder, Caspar Coppetti, recently bought a whopping US$2.0m worth of stock, at a price of US$30.67. While that only increased their holding size by 2.7%, it is still a big swing by our standards.
On Holding Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Notably, that recent purchase by Co-Founder Caspar Coppetti was not the only time they bought On Holding shares this year. Earlier in the year, they paid US$36.75 per share in a US$2.2m purchase. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$31.03 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when insiders have purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price.
On Holding insiders may have bought shares in the last year, but they didn't sell any. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. Insider Ownership
For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. It's great to see that On Holding insiders own 26% of the company, worth about US$2.7b. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
