U.S. stocks traded lower midway through trading, with the Nasdaq Composite falling more than 1% on Monday.

The Dow traded down 0.34% to 52,459.22 while the NASDAQ fell 1.32% to 25,933.72 The S&P 500 also fell, dropping, 0.66% to 7,525.53.

Leading and Lagging Sectors

Energy shares jumped by 2.1% on Monday.

In trading on Monday, information technology stocks fell by 1.2%.

Micron Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) shares fell more than 5% on Monday as investors reduced exposure to high-growth technology stocks.

The broader market’s risk-off tone appeared to be the main driver behind the decline. Micron is also consolidating after a strong 12-month rally, making the stock more vulnerable to profit-taking during periods of weaker market sentiment.

  • Twin Vee Powercats Co (NASDAQ:VEEE) shares shot up 125% to $10.86 after the company announced a merger agreement to combine its boating operations with a USFM subsidiary in Greenland.
  • Shares of Q32 Bio Inc (NASDAQ:QTTB) got a boost, surging 69% to $18.97 after the company announced 36-week topline results from Part B of the SIGNAL-AA Phase 2a clinical trial.
  • Agenus Inc (NASDAQ:AGEN) shares were also up, gaining 108% to $6.97 after the company announced it will raise $85 million to fund its colon cancer drug trial.

  • BNB Plus Corp (NASDAQ:BNBX) shares dropped 57% to $0.16 after the company announced it received a Nasdaq delisitng notification.
  • Shares of YSX Tech Co Ltd (NASDAQ:YSXT) were down 37% to $0.64 after the company reported a year-over-year decrease in FY26 EPS results.
  • SanDisk Corp (NASDAQ:SNDK) was down, falling 9% to $1,738.89 as investors reduced exposure to growth stocks amid a broader risk-off market.

Commodities

In commodity news, oil traded up 5.3% to $75.18 while gold traded down 1.3% at $4,058.50.

Silver traded down 2.7% to $58.525 on Monday, while copper rose 0.6% to $6.3225.

Euro zone

European shares were mixed today. The eurozone’s STOXX 600 declined 0.1%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index fell 0.01%. London’s FTSE 100 rose 0.01%, Germany’s DAX gained 0.1%, while France’s CAC 40 gained 0.3%.

Asia Pacific Markets

Asian markets closed mixed on Monday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 falling 1.92%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rising 0.16%, China’s Shanghai Composite dipping 2.06% and India’s BSE Sensex gaining 0.06%.
