Dear Investors,

Background:

Labor Day is a national holiday in the United States, observed on the first Monday of September each year. It honors the contributions of workers to the nation's development.

The holiday originated in the late 19th century as part of the American labor movement's fight for an eight-hour workday. On May 1st, 1886, around 350,000 workers launched strikes and demonstrations across the country, demanding shorter working hours. Violent clashes in Chicago resulted in hundreds of casualties. Although the strikes were suppressed, they led some companies to reduce working hours to 8-10 hours.

In 1889, the Second International designated May 1st as International Workers' Day to commemorate the movement. To distinguish from international labor movements, the U.S. Congress passed legislation in the same year, establishing Labor Day as a federal holiday on the first Monday of September. Celebrations typically include parades and gatherings.
