Executive Chairman of the Board Of Camtek Sold 35% Of Their Shares
Camtek Ltd CAMT | 0.00 |
We wouldn't blame Camtek Ltd. (NASDAQ:CAMT) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Lior Aviram, the Executive Chairman of the Board recently netted about US$1.1m selling shares at an average price of US$168. That's a big disposal, and it decreased their holding size by 35%, which is notable but not too bad.
Camtek Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Notably, that recent sale by Lior Aviram is the biggest insider sale of Camtek shares that we've seen in the last year. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of US$173. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.

Insider Ownership Of Camtek
Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. It appears that Camtek insiders own 0.3% of the company, worth about US$20m. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
So What Does This Data Suggest About Camtek Insiders?
An insider hasn't bought Camtek stock in the last three months, but there was some selling. Looking to the last twelve months, our data doesn't show any insider buying. Insiders own shares, but we're still pretty cautious, given the history of sales. We'd practice some caution before buying! While it's good to be aware of what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision.
