NEW YORK, June 1 (Reuters) - U.S. spot natural gas prices at the Henry Hub benchmark in Louisiana averaged a two-year low for the month of May, pricing data from financial firm LSEG showed.

Gas prices averaged $2.94 per million British thermal units (mmBtu) in May, their lowest for the month since 2024.

That was down from averages of $3.12 per mmBtu in May 2025 and $3.69 during the month over the past five years (2021 to 2025).

In calendar year 2025, prices at Henry Hub averaged $3.53 per mmBtu, up from a four-year low of $2.19 in 2024 and a five-year average of $3.72. NGAS/POLL
