US stocks advanced as Russian media reported Washington and Tehran would restart talks, while Iran and Oman planned a temporary Strait of Hormuz shipping corridor. US Treasury yields fell. The Dow Jones Industrial Average(DJI.US) gained 0.30% to 53,577.40, the NASDAQ(IXIC.US) rose 0.66% to 26,151.30, and the S&P 500 index(SPX.US) added 0.32% to 7,677.28.

Tadawul, Muqassa Enhance Saudi Derivatives Market
Saudi Exchange and Muqassa introduced structural reforms for MT30 Index Futures and Single Stock Futures to boost liquidity, efficiency and investor participation. Effective Aug 19, the measures include a revamped market-making framework, lower trading, clearing and regulatory fees, and one-year waivers for futures trading and final settlement fees. Muqassa also waived certain collateral-account and transfer-service fees.
Saudi Arabia Tightens White Land Fee Rules
Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet barred the registration of ownership transfers for land subject to the White Land and Vacant Properties Fees Law until the outstanding fees are verified as paid. Municipalities and Housing Minister Majid Al-Hogail said the measure protects state revenue, strengthens market governance and encourages land development, supporting housing supply and Vision 2030 homeownership goals.
Iran, Oman Plan Temporary Hormuz Shipping Corridor
Iranian and Omani diplomats agreed Tuesday in Tehran to pursue a temporary shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz and discuss mine clearance, with permanent routes under review over the next 30 to 60 days. Separately, Pakistani military and Iranian security sources told Russia’s Sputnik that Tehran and Washington had agreed on ceasefire terms and would soon restart talks.

MIS Expands HUMAIN AI Data Center Project
Al Moammar Information Systems Co.(7200.SA) received an award from HUMAIN to expand an AI data center project from 50 megawatts to 250 megawatts. The enlarged contract exceeds 689% of MIS’ 2025 revenue of SAR1.27 billion. The additional 200-megawatt capacity will be built in phases, with the final contract expected within two weeks.
Acwa, KOWEPO Eye Uzbekistan Renewable Energy Projects
ACWA POWER Co.(2082.SA) and Korea Western Power signed an MoU in Tashkent on Aug 25 to jointly identify renewable energy opportunities in Uzbekistan. The companies will assess projects individually, subject to further evaluation, internal approvals, and definitive agreements, while combining their business development expertise and local capabilities.
ACWA Power Shareholders Approve SAR352.6 Million Dividend
ACWA POWER Co.(2082.SA) shareholders approved a SAR352.6 million cash dividend for 2025, equivalent to SAR0.46 per share. Eligible shareholders must hold shares and be registered with Edaa by the second trading day after the Aug 25 general meeting. Distribution will begin Sept 9. The proposal received 99.8% approval.

BinDawood Secures SAR542 Million Financing
BinDawood Holding Co.(4161.SA) obtained a Shariah-compliant Murabaha facility from Banque Saudi Fransi and Gulf International Bank to finance its Estonian dairy plant asset acquisition. The SAR542 million facility has a three-to-five-year term and requires no bank guarantees. Its subsidiary previously agreed to acquire the assets for SAR585.85 million, equivalent to EUR135.25 million.

NVIDIA Corporation(NVDA.US) unveiled the Jetson Orin Nano 2, an entry-level computing platform for robots, drones and other edge AI applications. The company said the compact device delivers twice the inference performance of its predecessor and matches the previous model’s performance while using 40% less power in 15-watt mode.
Micron CEO Sells US$38.8 Million in Shares
Micron Technology, Inc.(MU.US) President and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra sold 40,000 common shares on Aug 21 at an average price of US$968.90 each, according to an SEC filing disclosed Aug 25. The transaction was valued at about US$38.76 million.
