Gabon's bonds fall as government slashes revenue projections

- Gabon's international bonds dropped on Tuesday after the government released a revised 2026 budget report that slashed revenue projections and authorised borrowing of up to $1.5 billion (857.85 billion CFA francs) on international markets.

The new budget slashed overall revenue projections by 22% to 3.24 trillion CFA francs. It comes as Gabon pushes for an International Monetary Fund programme and awaits the findings of an audit of years of public borrowing.

Government bonds across all maturities fell. Those due in February 2031 US362420AE18=TE dropped 1.2 cents on the dollar to bid at 85.39 cents, Tradeweb data showed. Those due in 2029 US362420AD35=TE fell 1.1 cents to 94.32 cents.
