Marjorie Taylor Greene Questions Gas Prices
Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene raised questions about Trump‘s claims of secretly moving oil out of the Strait of Hormuz amid the Iran war. She asked why ordinary Americans were still grappling with high gas costs as Trump touted moving 100 million barrels of oil out of the Strait.
Gov. Jay Robert ‘JB’ Pritzker (D-IL), on the other hand, announced that Illinois would be freezing an automatic hike in state tax levied on gas till January 2027. The Governor touted the move as “relief” from Trump for Americans grappling with high fuel costs.
Iran War
Meanwhile, tensions in the region continue to escalate as Trump warned of further strikes on Iran if a deal wasn’t reached between Washington and Tehran. On the other hand, Iran's apex military command announced that the Strait of Hormuz would be closed to oil tankers and commercial vessels.
“Rich Dad Poor Dad” author and investor Robert Kiyosaki says Iran’s move to accept Chinese Yuan as payment for oil could spell the end of the U.S. dollar.
