We wouldn't blame Commvault Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CVLT) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Sanjay Mirchandani, the President recently netted about US$843k selling shares at an average price of US$124. However, that sale only accounted for 5.0% of their holding, so arguably it doesn't say much about their conviction.

Notably, that recent sale by President Sanjay Mirchandani was not the only time they sold Commvault Systems shares this year. They previously made an even bigger sale of -US$11m worth of shares at a price of US$182 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The good news is that this large sale was at well above current price of US$120. So it may not tell us anything about how insiders feel about the current share price.
