Hyperscale Data Sells Bitcoin Treasury Assets To Fund Its Michigan AI Campus
Hyperscale Data, Inc. GPUS | 0.00 |
Hyperscale Data Inc. (AMEX:GPUS) shares rose in early Thursday trading after the company outlined plans to use part of its Bitcoin treasury to accelerate development of its Michigan artificial intelligence data center campus.
S&P 500 futures gained 0.7%.
Bitcoin Funds AI Expansion
Hyperscale Data sold about 100 Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and is using the proceeds for construction, infrastructure, and long-lead equipment at its Michigan campus.
The company also established a Bitcoin-backed credit facility with variable interest rates expected to range from about 4.5% to 5%.
Management said the strategy could reduce reliance on equity financing, limit stockholder dilution and preserve a substantial portion of its Bitcoin holdings.
Contract Could Top $3 Billion
The campus supports a master services agreement with a neo-cloud AI infrastructure provider.
The agreement initially covers about 20 megawatts of AI computing capacity. It has a 10-year term and two optional five-year extensions, with expected revenue exceeding $1.2 billion over the maximum term.
The customer may add another 32 megawatts. If fully exercised and extended, total contract revenue could exceed $3 billion.
Bitcoin Holdings And Outlook
Hyperscale Data recently reported holding about $71 million in Bitcoin.
Executive Chairman Milton "Todd" Ault III said Bitcoin monetization and Bitcoin-backed borrowing were more attractive than issuing additional equity at current valuations.
"This decision does not constitute a change in our long-term conviction regarding Bitcoin," CEO William Horne said. "Instead, we believe it demonstrates the strategic value of maintaining a substantial Bitcoin treasury."
Hyperscale Data expects to divest Ault Capital Group in the second quarter of 2027 and focus on data centers, high-performance computing services and digital assets.
Critical GPUS Price Levels To Watch After Recent Bounce
Despite Thursday’s bounce, GPUS remains near the bottom of its 52-week range of 11 cents to 83 cents and is down 84.73% over the past year.
The stock trades below all major moving averages: 8.3% below the 20-day SMA, 30.1% below the 50-day SMA, 25.3% below the 100-day SMA, and 45.8% below the 200-day SMA.
The setup remains bearish, with the 20-day SMA below the 50-day and the 50-day below the 200-day. However, MACD is above its signal line and the histogram is positive, suggesting downside momentum is easing.
The key near-term test is whether GPUS can reclaim and hold the 20-day SMA, where rebounds often stall during broader downtrends.
- Key Resistance: 13 cents — aligns with the 20-day SMA, a common first ceiling during attempted rebounds
- Key Support: 11 cents — sits on the 52-week low zone, where a break can trigger fresh downside pressure
