IMF says central bank communications are critical in uncertain times
WASHINGTON, July 8 (Reuters) - Communication by central banks is critical in uncertain times and forward guidance has been a useful tool in the past, a top IMF official said on Wednesday, saying it was "only natural" that policymakers would revisit the scope and modalities of such guidance over time.
Petya Koeva Brooks, deputy director of the International Monetary Fund's research department, told reporters that the IMF was taking note of changes in some central banks' approach to forward guidance and hoped to engage on the issue in coming months.
