Insider Purchases Worth US$5.52m See Losses As Nomadar Market Value Drops To US$50m
Nomadar Corp. Class A NOMA | 0.00 |
Insiders who acquired US$5.52m worth of Nomadar Corp.'s (NASDAQ:NOMA) stock at an average price of US$6.30 in the past 12 months may be dismayed by the recent 14% price decline. Insiders invest with the hopes of seeing their money grow in value over time. However, as a result of recent losses, their initial investment is now only worth US$2.41m, which is not what they expected.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.
Nomadar Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by insider Manuel Charlo for US$2.3m worth of shares, at about US$8.68 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of US$2.75. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. It is encouraging to see an insider paid above the current price for shares, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels. Manuel Charlo was the only individual insider to buy during the last year.

Insider Ownership Of Nomadar
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Nomadar insiders own about US$32m worth of shares (which is 64% of the company). Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
So What Do The Nomadar Insider Transactions Indicate?
There haven't been any insider transactions in the last three months -- that doesn't mean much. But insiders have shown more of an appetite for the stock, over the last year. It would be great to see more insider buying, but overall it seems like Nomadar insiders are reasonably well aligned (owning significant chunk of the company's shares) and optimistic for the future.
