Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC) stock fell nearly 4% in Tuesday’s premarket session as semiconductor stocks retreated alongside a weaker technology market. Nasdaq futures declined 0.72%, while S&P 500 futures slipped 0.07%.

The stock appeared to be moving lower with the broader semiconductor sector as investors adopted a more cautious stance ahead of the opening bell.

The pullback follows a strong 12-month rally and shifts attention to whether Intel can hold key technical support levels.

Technical Analysis

Intel remains in a long-term uptrend, although its intermediate momentum has weakened.

The stock is trading about 19% below its 20-day simple moving average (SMA) and 23.1% below its 50-day SMA, suggesting near-term rallies could face resistance. However, it is only 2.8% below its 100-day SMA, making that level an important support area.

Momentum indicators have also softened. The moving average convergence divergence (MACD) indicator remains below its signal line, with a negative histogram. That typically suggests buying momentum has weakened and rebounds could struggle until momentum improves.

Despite the recent pullback, Intel remains 33.6% above its 200-day SMA. The stock also continues to benefit from the golden cross that formed in August 2025, when the 50-day SMA moved above the 200-day SMA, a signal often associated with longer-term bullish trends.

The June peak marked the stock’s 52-week high, while the July low now serves as the latest support reference. Traders will watch whether Intel continues to post higher lows. Key technical levels include:

  • Resistance: $90.77, near the 100-day SMA.
  • Support: $66.03, near the 200-day SMA.

Intel Analyst Outlook

The stock carries a Hold consensus rating with an average analyst price forecast of $109.07. Recent analyst actions include:

  • Baird: Neutral; raised price forecast to $125 on July 27.
  • DA Davidson: Neutral; raised price forecast to $100 on July 24.
  • Morgan Stanley: Equal-Weight; raised price forecast to $84 on July 24.

Benzinga Edge Rankings

Intel has a Momentum score of 99.12, making it one of the stronger momentum names despite its recent decline.

If the stock stabilizes near its 100-day moving average, traders may view the recent weakness as a healthy consolidation rather than the start of a broader downtrend.
