Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Prairie Operating Co. Even though that isn't a massive buy, it did increase their holding by 58%, which is arguably a good sign.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Prairie Operating

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by insider Gregory O'Neill for US$3.0m worth of shares, at about US$1.75 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$0.95 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.

While Prairie Operating insiders bought shares during the last year, they didn't sell. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Does Prairie Operating Boast High Insider Ownership?

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Insiders own 27% of Prairie Operating shares, worth about US$25m. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.

So What Do The Prairie Operating Insider Transactions Indicate?

The recent insider purchases are heartening. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions. But we don't feel the same about the fact the company is making losses.
