GDANSK, June 30 (Reuters) - Kongsberg Gruppen KOG.OL will provide its defense system to Kuwait in a deal with Raytheon under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales programme, the Norwegian technology company said on Tuesday.
The contract for deliveries of Norwegian Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) is worth around $400 million for the company, it said.
NASAMS, a mobile defence system developed in cooperation with Raytheon, will help Kuwait protect its population and infrastructure against threats from the air, Kongsberg said.
Last week, Kuwait faced missile and drone strikes, which the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said were sent in response to U.S. strikes against Iran.
NASAMS has been used by 15 other countries, data on the company's website shows.
